See this cute little pile of boxes?I made them.In minutes.Using my own paper stash.A few weeks ago I tested out the Crafter's Companion Ultimate Cardmaking system. I thought I would only need the card making parts of this amazing tool. Turns out I want to learn how to make everything,www.uggbootsshop-ch.com!Sara, the inventor of this tool was back on The Shopping Channel last week and we got to spend a whole day together. She had amazing samples and I was desperate to get a little time to see what I could make. These are the first three boxes I have ever made. NO MEASURING. The board does all the math. Having watching the inventor demo it 6-8 times I was starting to think I had already made some boxes. But I hadn't so yesterday I made time to see if I could become a box maker. I have a whole new set of extra thick 3 Birds card stock which I will be launching soon. These boxes are going to make good samples since I used those new papers to make these first boxes. An hour later, I was pulling out leather paper so I could create a special box for the Poufs (c) I make. Finally, a perfect presentation box. I'll never buy a box again! You need a good thick card stock if you want to score lines to make boxes. Glancing at my stash, it occurred to me that some of the paper sets I have came with beautifully printed thick covers. So I cut those covers up....which means I am recycling now too! I am using card stock which would ordinarily be trashed.Aren't these boxes gorgeous? From what most of us would consider the advertising on the cover of the stack! Then I started pulling out ribbon.Don't ask. The studio is a disaster and I am only interested in making more boxes..... <
This week I spent 2 long, long, long days in Boulder City repainting the sign for the Southwest Diner.nbsp; Can I tell you its much taller than it looks. nbsp;Fortunately, ugg boots sale, Monday's weather worked with me for a pleasant day of 90 degrees andnbsp;slight breeze.nbsp; I'm so thankful for that since I spent 11 hours crawling around on scaffolding.nbsp; I repainted all the red, taped off, and repainted the white 'restaurant' lettering,Boots UGG Pas Cher, and removed the old neon tubing that didn't work anymore onnbsp;nbsp;Monday.nbsp; A boom lift was ordered and I went back out on Wednesday to finish the sign.nbsp; nbsp;It was hot on Wednesday and barely a breeze...and after two full days in the sun I have the burn to prove it. nbsp;I'm thankful for the boom lift, it let me work atnbsp;any height I needed to.nbsp; I felt much safer as well with a cage around me.nbsp; nbsp;I had precut letters at home so I traced them onto the sign and began the masking off process.nbsp; It seems like the longest part.nbsp; Several coats of paint were layed down, tape was removed and I outlined the lettering and added a little detail to fill and 'cute it up' a little (according to Cindy).nbsp; Now the sign looks great from both sides, it's nice, bright and refreshed...and way better than the old banner they had attached to the sign.nbsp; Both the owner and I are very pleased with the way it turned out.nbsp; P.S.nbsp; I suggested vinyl lettering for the lit sign with address underneath.nbsp; It will be a cleaner look when it's backlit. <

Most of her paintings are created with acrylics on canvas or more recently cradled masonite panels. She enjoys painting fairies, fantasy, fun, and upbeat themes. She is inspired by anime and manga, cartoons of the early 80s, childrens books, etc. Valarie holds a BFA degree in Psychology from The University of Oklahoma. From this experience she has learned the psychology of moods and color and for her more thought provoking contemporary or pop surrelist work shows the inter ego of her subjects tossed with popular and time honored symbolisms. Her work has been used on a variety of licensed products in the past from cross stitch patterns to rubber stamps." We are proud to welcome her into our stampy family here at the castle!
