hard hitting safeties of all time
I cant argue with Evil Monkey. his list is pretty much the nail on the head.
Growing up
Peppers Jersey, I played 5 years at safety and Lynch and Atwater were my biggest inspirations
Hester Jersey. Lynch
Ponder Jersey, especially for his size had more "bang for the buck" than the others
to set a financial standard in the middle of the first round. He was almost flawless in his technique. Not only was he a sure tackler, but knew how to get an elite runningback or WR looking at the sky before he knew what hit him. Atwater was phenominal as well. He was a decleater, and more a momentum hitter than Lynch was [meaning John didn need as long of a range to gain his power in a tackle]
security cables snapped to his harness.. While Lynch was more of an all-around hitter
educated, his punch came around the torso
Cutler Jersey. In my years playing safety, those torso shots will wear on a player by far quicker. John was great at getting into the runningback, wide receiver, and even quarterback head. He was a greatly underrated player, and not only physically dominant, but in his later years as a veteran, cerebrally as well. Both were weighed in at 220 lbs
Peterson Jersey. but technique was the difference between the 2
Hester Jersey. And really between all the players
Peterson Jersey. Either way, when you on offense, none of those players did you want staring right back at you. Least of all Lynch
