Finally – a star who dresses like we do when we fly! A refreshingly low-key Cameron Diaz stayed mellow at the airport in a white tee, scarf, and jeans, with a cream Tila March Zeilg Tote as her carry-on of choice. Tila March is a label with lots of indie fashion buzz, so it’s great to see a big celebrity like Cameron Diaz show some love. See, there is such a thing as comfy-chic.

Angelina Jolie & Her Gucci Handbag July 27th, 2009
They’re baaaaaack. Angelina Jolie and son Maddox flew home to LA after a humanitarian trip to Iraq, and they brought Angelina’s Gucci Guccissima handbag along for the ride. The black bag is a smart carry-on choice: roomy, versatile, and still chic as hell. Plus, it comes in black, which, judging by this photo, seems to be Angie’s favorite color. Now if I just knew what little Maddox was carrying…

Just when I’d thought the skull trend had mercifully went on its merry way, here comes heiress Nicky Hilton with a ghoulish tank. Thanks, dearie. At least she had the decency to bring along a designer handbag as well, in this case a black and gray Goyard tote that suits her macabre look. Though I’m not that fond of skulls, I have to admit this casual look is pretty fierce…if not a tad bony.

Jetting across the country to promote her new film “The Ugly Truth” seems to have dampened Katherine Heigl‘s personality (is it just me or is she giving us the cold hard stare of death?), but it hasn’t hurt her fashion sense any. I’m smitten with her bold yellow Marc Jacobs Robert Lexie purse, which didn’t seem to get much play with the celebrity set before (Selma Blair excepted). It’s not the most versatile handbag, but that vibrant yellow is a great choice for summer, methinks.

Wow, Dr. Grey has really filled out! Actress Ellen Pompeo showed off a pronounced baby bump in a chic black maxi dress while out shopping for the little one. The star also showed off her lovely Tod’s Luna Hobo, known for its multiple gold zips. It’s a cute look for a pregnant woman – heck, any woman.

Oh, Lindsay. Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay. What on earth is up with those ragged jeans? Not to mention the one, two, THREE handbags? Of the three, I dig the Pauric Sweeney the most, but that pink Gucci purse is pretty striking too, though a tad girly and youthful for my taste. Still, it doesn’t excuse those need-to-be-thrown-out jeans. Gucci is good, but not THAT good.

For those who feared that Lauren Conrad’s departure from “The Hills” would mean a dearth of Chanel handbags on the show, worry not. Audrina Partridge is all too happy to fill the Chanel void with her own stash of sweet petite quilted leather arm candy. Though I’m not 100% behind her boob-tube frock,glasses, Audrina does get points for her Chanel bag, which is the perfect size for a chic party clutch. LC would definitely approve.

Talk about brand loyalty. Victoria’s Secret cutie Miranda Kerr – who has been dazzling us lately with a whirlwind of designer handbags and outfits – stepped up her game at the airport with not one, not two, but three pieces of Louis Vuitton goodness. Combined with her black shades and peachy-nude trench (so gorgeous, by the way), she put all of us slobs who roll up in our terry-cloth trackpants and Uggs to shame. I love how she mixes and matches the Louis Vuitton prints, too – it goes, but without being too matchy.

I’m still scratching my head over the unlikely marriage of Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams, but I have to admit the couple do look pretty loved-up in this snapshot. But not as loved-up as Mandy and her stone-wash Alexander Wang Donna Hobo do. The Wang handbags are getting major play right now, and though I prefer the studded black leather bags to this ’80s-tastic version, I certainly wouldn’t kick it out of my closet.

Stop…HAMMER TIME. Fergie‘s attempt to bring Hammer pants back from the dead fell with a big thud (thank God!), and those blue-trimmed shades didn’t fare much better. On the bright side, Fergie did earn some style points for pairing this disastrous look with Alexander Wang’s Donna Hobo, the bag du jour for rocker girls. But seriously…who the hell let her out of the house like this?
