Unfortunately that has now changed, what you now get is quality goods at a reasonable price. There are still the markets where cheap goods are there for the taking, fake watches, clothing, and too many other items to mention. Then if you take the rest of Hong Kong there are to many to mention. They are all within the transport system, going by public transport or taxi (very reasonable) The bus service is second to none and the subway is the best I have traveled on.
These malls as you would expect are large, clean with the different array of shopping. Top names shops, coffee bars, restaurants and there are more malls per square mile than anywhere else.

Then you have the high street shops, street after street after street, Hong Kong is really a mecca for shopping anything and everything you will find.
