How to Use north face jacket to Defend Knife Attack
Tres Tew here. I'm an instructor at Yeshua's Ryu Martial Arts and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to be showing you how to use your north face jacket or your hooded sweatshirt in a defense situation. Now, you can use your hoodie to sort of shield your arms in a knife attack, and as well, use it as a kind of grappling tool. When you do this, you want to make sure that you are creating distance between your attacker before you try to pull your hoodie over your head. You want to do this either by backing up at a good distance, enough to give yourself plenty of time, or create the distance through violent force. Push him back. So, you can either back up, or force him to come back. Now, when you pull it over, you want to pull it just straight over your head just like so, and grab the hoodie like this. This is where your grappling comes in. Now, if Nick were to come in with a cross slash from the other side, we are going to catch it in our hood, just like this. We're going to roll it over into a shoulder crank going right here. From here, we can control him like this. Take the knife, go straight into disabling this arm. Then we have his knife from here. We can either get rid of our hoodie and go after him if he thinks he wants to pull another weapon or if he continues to be a threat. Or, he probably is going to want to run after we just stabbed him in the shoulder. So,that's how to use your hoodie as a defensive weapon.
