If you are anything like me I am sure that you have some version of the Chanel classic flap handbag lying around or you are atleast covet it. So what makes the classic flap so classic? And what is the difference between that Chanel handbag and the 2.55 reissue? Well in actual fact they are the same bag, just different versions.

Coco Chanel introduced the classic flap in February of 1955 (2.55). The luxurious bag,designer replica handbags, with its flap opening, quilted leather, and chain strap��characteristics which would become aesthetic staples in Chanel handbag designs��revolutionized how handbags were worn by women. Prior to the introduction of the Chanel Classic Flap handbag socialites would carry their purses in their hands. The revolutionary chain strap (inspired by the key chains worn by nuns at Coco Chanel’s orphanage when she was a girl) allowed classy ladies to keep both of their hands free.

Over the years this bag has gone through a number of changes. It has been reproduced with different leathers, different closures, different handles, different colours and sizes, just about every variation one could imagine. Until Karl Lagerfield got a little bit of retro fever and introduced the 2.55 Reissue. This bag is a throwback to the original Classic Flap created by Coco Chanel herself.

Fabulous Flap Bags: The Differences

If you look at the replica Chanel Reissue 2.55 handbag and the Chanel Classic Flap, on first glance they appear to be basically the same. Here are some of the key differences:

? Chain strap: The Reissue features a strap that is made exclusively of metal chain, while the Classic Flap has leather interwoven with the chain.

The Mademoiselle closure is only found on the the Reissue or bags manufactured before the 1980's

? Closure: The Chanel Reissue 2.55 features the rectangular Mademoiselle lock, introduced by Coco Chanel in the ’50s (the name is in reference to the fact that Coco never married). The Classic Flap features a CC lock closure, introduced by Karl Lagerfeld in the ’80s.

? Leather: The two handbags feature a slightly different character of leather. The Reissue 2.55 features leather that appears more worn than the modern version.

? Inner flap: The Reissue Chanel handbags feature an inner double flap (where Coco Chanel hid her love letters).

There you have it. Hi Sofia, thanks for rerfreshing my memory! I read about above years ago when I first received authentic black Classic 2.55 small from a friend. What a beautiful story of Coco…always so inspiring, I especially love the fact that she never married. There’s this certain thing about a beautiful, successful unmarried woman…

Classic is such a one and only, but I’d love to own a medium size Reissue. I like the Mad lock and metal chain, love at first sight! know you once told me to check out Beubag for replicas, however with so many negative feedbacks, not sure where to look now. As you said Chanel is so hard to replicate. Not sure about Replica Valley for Chanels though. FYI-I’m waiting for my Artsy from them any day now. Can’t wait!!

The Chanels at Replicavalley are also very good. You need to check the details because sometimes with Chanel they can be off a little but the materials are top notch. Glad to hear you made the plunge with the Artsy you won’t be sorry.

Sofia, you are correct in the details. I recently ordered 3 LV items, a Chanel bag and a Chanel wallet from Replicavalley and the I was not all that pleased. The leather on the wallet was great, but the emblem was crooked. The leather on the bag was a good quality lambskin, but I had actually ordered a patent bag. The LV on the other hand, was PERFECT. Not sure if I will order Chanel from then again. Any recommendations for Chanel replicas – it looks like cnreplicabag.com has a good blue caviar but the site is horrible and that dont accept CC.

What are your thoughts?

Hi Ashlie, to tell you the truth right now I am at a loss. 2 other sites that I used to recommend have disappointed me recently so I am temporarily out of recommendations (except replicavalley and replicavision) You might consider waiting for them. You could email them and try to figure out how long it will be out of stock for. Very often things are out of stock there for no more than a few days.

Chanel flaps are not replicated well, period. If every celebrity didn’t have one, no one else would want one either… so annoying. However, almost any other Chanel is okay yet the quality of materials is generally way inferior in comparison to the authentic,lv bags, which isn’t really the case with other reps.

Really I think it is unwise to get caught up in language. Most of it is created as part of an ad campaign to make you think one site is better than another. In China there is AAA quality and B quality and even that is subjective.

i have always wanted a 2.55 but the ones on replicavalley, the handle part going into the body of the bag just does not seem as good design as the classic flap.
