The U.S. Commerce Department confirmed Wednesday that it would be launching an investigation into Chinese solar subsidies and trade practices, in response to a petition filed by seven U.S. solar manufacturers last month. Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Commerce says it's "greatly concerned" by the latest developments, and the measure could jeopardize bilateral cooperation on energy issues. It's also warned that if the U.S. takes any anti-dumping measures against Chinese solar suppliers, it will hurt U.S. exports of equipment and raw materials to China. China also fired something of a warning shot today, saying it retains its right to adopt corresponding measures, within the framework of the WTO.
