HONG KONG, April 27 (Xinhua) -- The Third World Buddhist Forum concluded Friday afternoon with a declaration calling for world peace and harmony by taking actions.
The three-day forum, started from April 25 to 27, concluded with a declaration calling for "a harmonious world begins in the mind; a synergy of conditions relies on common aspirations and actions."
The declaration, read out by Hong Ming, executive vice-president of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association, said "In the present world, social injustice and ecological imbalance have yet to be addressed, mass misconducts and unbridled greed remain to be curbed. Therefore, the construction of a harmonious world should begin from one's mind. A synergy of conditions could only be achieved through common aspirations and actions."
As a conclusion, the Third World Buddhist Forum unanimously adopted the following resolution:
"We wish all human to be kind fake oakleys, every relationship to be valued and all beings to be cherished through gratefulness.
We wish every family to be united, parental love to be steady through dedication.
We wish the social relationship to be friendly, the goal of effective communication and reciprocal assistance to be reached through affinities.
We wish a harmonious society to be achieved, everyone enjoy his proper place through tolerance.
We wish the environment to be civilized and mutual appreciation to be strengthened through respect.
We wish a peaceful world to be realized, all enemies to be converted into friends through sharing."
Around 1,000 representatives from home and abroad attended the forum, including Buddhist leaders from different countries, well known Buddhist scholars, as well as individuals who are concerned with the development of Buddhism.
The Third World Buddhist Forum has played a positive role and made special contribution to the attaining of people's tranquility, promoting social harmony, maintaining world peace, and improving human beings' blessings, Xuecheng, vice President of the Buddhist Association of China said Friday.
Giving a speech at the closing ceremony of the Third World Buddhist Forum, Venerable Xuecheng said the forum also actively promoted solution to the pressing problems related to human survival and the realization of the world harmony and tranquility through reflection and rational thinking.
According to Xuecheng, aspiration and action are exactly the link between the internal mind and the external environment. The theme of the forum, "Common Aspirations and Actions towards a Harmonious World" coincides with the Buddhist vision for a harmonious world by turning from thinking to practice and expanding from individual to groups.
Kok Kwong, president of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association, gave a short remark at the closing ceremony. He said that during the seven sub-forums participants had deep and heated discussions on the fields of Buddhist cultivation, Dharma dissemination, education, charity and culture.
Wang Zuo'an, director of the State Administration for Religious Affairs said the Chinese government is firmly committed to the policy of freedom of religious beliefs, values the positive role played by all religions, including Buddhism, and dedicates itself to promoting harmonious relations among religions.
"We will, as always, support expanded exchanges and deepened cooperation between Buddhist communities on the mainland with those in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. We will consistently encourage Chinese Buddhist communities to participate in dialogues with other civilizations and faiths," he added.

The first forum was held in China's eastern Zhejiang Province in 2006. The second forum was opened in the eastern Jiangsu Province and closed in China's Taiwan in 2009.
