Clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch today reported net sales of US$1.076bn for the third quarter, a 21pc increase from US$885.8m net sales in the same period a year ago.
The company said its US sales,Calvin Klein Unterwäsche, including direct-to-consumer sales, were up 14pc to US$820.2m, while international sales increased 56pc to US$255.7m.
The company’s total direct-to-consumer sales, including shipping and handling, increased by 41pc to US$132.4m.
The company said total comparable store sales for the quarter were up by 7pc.
By brand, comparable store sales increased 4pc for Abercrombie & Fitch,cheap reebok shoes, 6pc for abercrombie kids, and 8pc for Hollister Co.
The company’s year-to-date net sales are US$2.829bn, a 22pc increase from net sales of US$2.319bn last year. Of this, all sales in the US were up 13pc to US$2.146bn, while international sales increased 64pc to US$683.3m.
Direct-to-consumer sales, including shipping and handling, increased 34pc to US$340.3m.
Total comparable store sales for the year-to-date period increased 8pc. By brand, comparable store sales increased 5pc for Abercrombie & Fitch, 8pc for abercrombie kids, and 10pc for Hollister Co.
At the end of the third quarter, the company operated a total of 1,092 stores: 316 Abercrombie & Fitch stores, 179 abercrombie kids stores, 501 Hollister Co stores, and 18 Gilly Hicks stores in the United States; and 10 Abercrombie & Fitch stores, four abercrombie kids stores, 63 Hollister Co stores and one Gilly Hicks store internationally.
The company will release its third quarter results on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. It said that effective from the fourth quarter of Fiscal 2011, the company will discontinue reporting sales results on the first Thursday following the close of each fiscal quarter and will report sales and earnings results on the same date.
