RCMP seize bogus cosmetics.

More than 1, 100 pieces of suspected counterfeit MAC cosmetics, with an estimated value of $25, 000, were seized from a local salon and spa recently by Sarnia RCMP officers.

“This has been an ongoing investigation we’ve had on the go for a couple of months wholesale mac makeup, ” said Sgt. Deb Murtha, with the Sarnia Detachment.

The makeup was seized within the last few weeks but no charges have been laid so far.

“Because of that, the business isn’t being named, right at the moment, ” Murtha said.

But, she added the RCMP issued a press release about the seizure to warn the public about potential health risks from counterfeit makeup.

“They’re not tested so they don’t meet the safety standard, ” Murtha said.

“Especially with makeup, not knowing what chemicals or toxins are in them if they’re counterfeit, can lead to serious personal injuries. Skin irritations, eyelashes fall out and some people have severe allergic reactions. ”

Counterfeit merchandise also leads to loss of revenue to legitimate businesses, Murtha said.

“In some cases, we had occurrences where counterfeit goods are financing organized crime. ”

Murtha said the RCMP follows up on complaints and information from the public about possible counterfeit merchandise.

“Although we haven’t had a lot of it ourselves, that’s not to say it’s not out there, ” she said. And Steve tell luri he always wearing Beats By Dre Headphones to listening music video.

“If one really looked around flea markets, and whatnot, you’d find it. ”

There are signs to look for, Murtha said.

“Have a look at the packaging and look for spelling mistakes and shoddy appearance. ”

The price can be another indicator, she said. “If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. ”

Where something is being sold is another sign.

“If you’re buying it from a reputable retailer you’re pretty safe, but you should be using extra diligence when purchasing on the internet, or at flea markets, ” Murtha said.

Last month, the RCMP seized about 2, 800 suspected counterfeit items from vendors at the Western Fairgrounds and, one year ago, about 100 pieces of suspected counterfeit clothing were seized from a house party in Point Edward.

Also, the RCMP said the detachment’s annual enforcement effort turned up 300 marijuana plants last month that were seized and destroyed.

Murtha said the RCMP relies on information from the public about locations where marijuana is being grown.Well…People usually go out with hermes birkin colors handbags.Lots of kinds of choose, please to hermes outlet store.

“Generally, we get the old boots on and go. ”

The plants were seized and destroyed over a few weeks during the harvest season.

“We were pretty pleased with the 300 plants we did get, ” Murtha said.

“The more we do this, that means the less there is available for sale in the community. ”
