Two operating systems for hybrid screen with a Samsung ultra-high resolution (3200x1800 pixels)

Two in one. Indeed, four in one. The new Samsung Ativ Q is in fact the first tablet / pc(PIPO S3) in the world to be able to manage two operating systems: Windows 8 or Android. Non-trivial exercise. It was enough to "play" a little 'with this product, shown last week in London during the international launch, in order to appreciate the virtues chameleon.

The look is that of a conventional tablet, more often than others, but the reason is immediately explained by the fact that the device is coupled to a keyboard. Unfortunately, the keyboard does not come off and does not rotate even to cover the display, protecting it. But the position of the hinges allows you to quickly switch from one configuration to touch pc style, and provide valuable support to the screen when you want to watch multimedia content. In the hands so we have a real tablet and a PC at the same time functional in all respects.

On the other hand the hardware features of the product are those of a notebook: iCore 5 processor, graphics card Intel HD Graphics 4400, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of solid state disk. If it is easy to switch from one mode of use to another, it is just as easy to change the operating system, just click on icons: that of the green robot of Android and the middle button / home Windows. Everything happens in real time, without the wait. The trick is possible because Android is actually an emulation, ie, spin like a simple software that is loaded on the tablet, but this does not represent any operational limitation.

The version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean(Hyundai T7) is absolutely complete and allows you to manage all the services and apps made for Android world. Not only that, but it also allows you to transfer files from one operating system to another sharing folders and contents.

Among the distinctive elements dell'Ativ Q deserves mention that the display, for the first time on this type of products, achieves a resolution record of 3200 x 1800 pixels (QHD +), with a density 2.8 times higher than that of devices in Full HD (275ppi). Indeed, the sharpness of the screen is excellent in any viewing angle, even if the interface Windows desktop, at this resolution, using microscopic font.

Considering the evidence we have been able to assess, at first glance, the product of Samsung seems to successfully solve the Hamlet-like dilemma between Windows and Android. The imbalance towards the world of notebook is however obvious, also because the screen from 13.3 inches and weight of 1.29 kilograms are not exactly parameters from tablet, but the thickness of just 13.9 mm is able to meet anyway freaks ultra-mobility. The official price has not yet been declared, but the rumors place him in high-end, so as to imply a vocation more businesses and consumers. It is likely, however, that we will soon get out of this rut ​​many other products.
