Wasserman Schultz is also concerned with the terms of the Bush administration's Social Security initiative and retirement security. She doesn't agree with privatizing Social Security and hopes to fight President Bush's Social Security proposal. Wasserman Schultz is already working to overcome the president's proposed changes to Social Security which would allow younger workers to invest some of their taxes in the stock market. Another hot topic with the Bush administration is their request for another $80 billion for the war in Iraq. "At this point, we're in Iraq and we should be supportive of our troops," Wasserman Schultz said. "We need to have equipment so that people fighting in Iraq have the ability to do their jobs." Schultz does not believe that we should immediately withdraw troops from Iraq, but she said that Bush does need a plan for an exit strategy.
