In her own words, Anne Hathaway had to hit rock bottom before she recognized the need to change. She is a rising star that almost got snuffed out. Anne was recently interviewed by David Letterman and shown brightly. She spoke candidly about her past and touted her new triumphs. Her latest movie Rachel Getting Married, has received numerous positive reviews and Letterman only wished her the best. With many of Hollywood’s elite sabotaging themselves with naughty behavior, Anne has weathered an incriminating storm with good grace. What I like most about her is that she harbors that pretty girl next door naivete, but boy does she like some wicked things. Let’s hope she keeps her naughty side reserved for the silver screen only. I wish her continued success.

The city bag has died out in most department stores. However Barney‘s has kept this bag alive. Each season, since it’s inception, Barney‘s has hung this bag on its walls. Most bag divas bought one early on. But if you didn’t hop on the Nicolas Ghesquiere bandwagon yet, this seasons Giant Lattice City in white/ black is the way to go. It reads instant Balenciaga but offers a bold graphic look that is good for both spring and fall. Black and white as a theme seems to appear as the “spectator” look for spring and the “tuxedo” look for holiday each year. Black and White pared with an “IT” bag is a smash hit any day of the year.

Nope. This purse does not look like it is worth $300. Quilted nylon with plastic bead snowflakes belong in the mark down barrel at Big Lots. I am sure this Secret Pon Pon Medium Fabric Bag would look cute with your ice skating outfit you may wear one time this season, but chances are this handbag will end up at the back of your closet sharing space with your straw bag with a giant pineapple embroidered on it. And just like the straw bag, this off white number won’t see the light of a winter’s day ever. It will just deplete your savings account, when you should be saving up for spring sandals.

The Hiller, Totally Turnlock, nor Dr.Q, this bag hails not. Marc by Marc Jacob’s Staples and Stud satchel steps away from it’s wildly successful handbag series that have been all the rage for the past few seasons. This motorcycle chic bag is fun and has a new energy that Marc‘s look was due for. Leave it to one of the leading designers of today to time his need for a face-lift perfectly. Regardless of whether this bag is an instant success, at least Marc is moving in a new direction and will continue to give us fabulous bags for future portage.

Patchwork never dies. Sometimes I wish it would. But then DVF comes along with the Abstracted Minaudiere and I fall in love again. This frame clutch mixes texture with metallic leather with the utmost sophistication. The simple frame design is accented by a facetted closure and the petite size is perfect to hold in your hand. DVF is an American Icon and her handbags are hot.

Unfortunately for me I missed out on the Chanel J12 white ceramic watch craze before it became the “every street corner” hocked watch. The J 12 WAS amazing. And since passing on the white ceramic wash out, I have been looking to find the next big statement of our time…. and I think I have found it. Michael by Michael Kors – Multifunction Bracelet Watch in Tortoise is available at shopkitson.com for $195. This watch is made of resin in a Tortoise pattern. Tortoise is rumored to make a comeback this spring, and either way it is a material that is truly timeless, pun intended. Tortoise has become an iconic pattern that reflects American charm. Unlike a white watch, that attracts too much attention to its self, this watch subtly reflects your choice to tell time in an effortless and continuous style.

MarSell Backpacks
Available at Yoox.com $695
Yoox. Com is offering up a new handbag line that is a careless collection Barney’s outlet might carry. Part Jerome Dreyfuss, part Henry Cuir, with a dash of Sundance catalog, Marsell’s collection of handbags is just not that special. And although slings are making a come back, this bag just looks impossible to get into. And forget keeping your valuables from spraying all over the place if you are to take a tumble in the latest Louboutins, louis vuitton outlet, the closure on this bag is non-existent. The backpack bag is best left for a senior citizen who can take her time finding her Brighton wallet while wondering in Sedona. Young women do not need another buffalo grain leather handbag that is, all in all, just boring.

Tinsley Mortimer just made a fabulous television appearance on Gossip Girl. GG is my guilty pleasure of 2008 and my husband recently asked me “are there really girls like B and S?”
Yes, of course there are. Case and point, Tinsley Mortimer. A true southern girl at heart, Tinsley has earned a reputation of actually having some design talent. After a brief stint at Vogue, she launched her own handbag line Samantha Thavasa. This brand is an AMAZING success in Japan. If you have not been to Tokyo, and you do go, you will know what I mean. Her brand is everywhere and all the young girls carry it! Not quite as successful here in the US, Tinsley has started another brand of clothing Riccimie. Kin to Thomas Jefferson, I can only image Tinsley has true American pride and spirit. After reading several blogs about Tinsley, louis vuitton bags, most people who claim to have met her all said the same thing, she is sweet and easy to talk to. Southern charm is a noble virtue we should all employ.

I was getting tired of the whole buckle hardware at the center of a flap clutch look. But leave it to Prada to offer a great version that looks fresh and new. The rich leather on this Vit Mordore Buckle Clutch is the best Italian tanneries have to offer. Even from the photo you can see the thick grain and shiny finish of this clutch. I also like the size of the Vit Mordore. At 9″ long and 5″ tall, this clutch is slightly over sized. And it is perfect to fit a few extra things you may want with you during your night out.

I don’t get it. Sometimes Burberry handbags are just amazing and sometimes they look like Liz Clairborne for Kohls. The Haymarket bag offers nothing new or fancy. Just a high price for the same old. And trimming the bag in gold metallic leather is just so not pretty. This purse has nothing to get me excited. Burberry Plaid is an instant classic, but this silhouette is wrong and looks like a knock off of itself. Is that even possible? Available at saksfifthavenue.com for $795
