MANILA, May 1 (Xinhuanet) -- A powerful blast ripped through the residential compound of a government official in the southern Philippines on Saturday , but nobody was injured in the incident , police said. Motorcycle-riding men lobbed an grenade at the house of Silvino Cinches , the regional director of the National Bureau of Investigation , in Cotabato city before dawn Saturday , the Philippine News Agency quoted local police as saying. The grenade landed at Cinches'garage and damaged his government-issued Nissan pick-up , but no member of his family was hurt in theincident, police said. Authorities have yet to determine the motive of the grenade attack. Cinches' wife , also a government official , was earlier reportedly implicated in an alleged fund mess in the education department of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao , which is composed of five Muslim-majority provinces in the southern main island of Mindanao.
