, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- An explosion at an oil refinery in northeast China Wednesday left at least one person dead
, two missing and some 30 others injured
, local officials said.
The blast at the No. 2 plant of the Fushun Petrochemical Co. in Liaoning province ignited a fire that took all day to bring under control
, China's official Xinhua news agency reported.
A company spokesman said most of the injuries were minor
, the result of broken glass and other debris.
The explosion occurred at a heavy oil catalytic cracking unit that is part of the plant's automated production line.
