discount ugg boots, June 9 (UPI) -- More than 50 journalists were freed Thursday in Nepal's capital

The journalists were arrested Wednesday when over 500 gathered in the capital city to protest the restrictions placed on them since the takeover of the government by King Gyanendra. They were released after being held overnight

"It was an attempt by the government to scare and discourage journalists

The federation had been protesting against the continuing ban on news broadcasts on FM radio stations. The government says the FM news encourages Maoist rebels.
The government issued no statement as to why the journalists were detained or why they were released.
