, N.Y., man wounded a puppy by throwing it up in the air and out into the street after a spat with the dog's owner
, police say.
Neighbors and police allege when Jaime Sanchez
, 56, saw his neighbor from across the street, Barbara Bottiglieri, 54
, walking by about 2:15 p.m. Saturday with her dachshund
, Coco, he allegedly warned her not to let the puppy do his business on his lawn or he would sic his 50-pound mutt on them both
, the New York Daily News reported.
Bottiglieri threatened to call police. Sanchez allegedly walked up to the woman
, grabbed the dog's leash and flung the dachshund 6 feet in the air and 10 feet into the street, police said.
The abuse caused the puppy's stitches from a recent spaying to be ruptured and her tail also was injured.
Police arrested Sanchez and charged him with torturing an animal and reckless endangerment to property.
"I'm horrified by it
