Vice President of LG in Europe, Won Kim, today confirmed through an interview to a German, All about phones, that the Korean company is working on the successor to the Nexus 4(ONDA V812), although it has been a success. Not rule out returning to work with Google, but tells us, LG is strong enough not to need make another Nexus and succeed. It also denies that Google will take a version of its flagship as did Samsung with its Galaxy S4. According Won, customization layer LG's smartphones is an important part thereof.
What I think is that LG wants to stop relying on other companies and develop their own hardware. LG and develops processors for its televisions, and though this architecture is not present in their smartphones, LG processors(Cube U18GT) may see in the near future, as the company already incorporates its own components in many parts of the terminals batteries, screens, etc..
Won Kim also noted that the fact that two large companies, Google and Apple, monopolize the whole market is not beneficial, and that LG could start presenting Mozilla Firefox OS devices, or maybe Tizen or Ubuntu.
On the issue of the tablets(Onda v701), LG says it's a highly segmented, but says he will soon be a LG with Android tablet on the market, but did not specify anything else at the moment.
Is it true that LG will leave a little from side to Google and start working with other open source operating system? Will LG tablets and hybrid manufacturing with Windows 8 and will focus only on Android?
