Jordan Spizikes Baby’
Androgyny is nothing new (be it girls-as-boys or boys-as-girls) and granted we’ve been writing about the female dandy as an ongoing trend for some time now; but when there’s a new interpretation,Air Jordan 4 silver or gold, a fresh spin, it’s bound to catch our eye. This Dazed & Confused shoot featuring Arizona Muse did just that. The masculine looks are varied,Air Jordan Pas Cher, from very sharp and traditional men’s tailoring through to Teddy Boy styling and rockabilly hair,Jordan Spizikes, culminating in elements of boyish punk.

Yes, it would seem there is. Not only does she fit the mould,Air Jordan III 1967′, she’s apparently as drawn to feline creatures as they are to her.

Australian label Stylestalker booked Anja for their latest collection look book, titled Baby’s On Fire, with dreams in mind of those said cat ear headbands and sex kitten looks. Having no idea if Anja was fond of cats, they were pleasantly surprised to discover not one but four cat-related tattoos across her body. A lucky match made in heaven, the tattoos quickly became a key part of the shoot.

To say ManiaMania have build up something of a cultish following would not be inaccurate. The jewellery label’s quickly-established trademark of bohemian rawness and mystical themes is as clear cut and singular as their pieces are complex, and there couldn’t be a better face for the brand than Abbey Lee Kershaw – a walking personification of their style. For spring 2011/2012 their collection The Third Mind takes inspiration from Surrealism. In reading in-depth about those inspirations you get the sense that you’re peering into the fragmented Kaleidoscope of the design duo’s mind. Australian Melanie Kamsler and Tamila Purvis cite inspirations from Kenneth Anger to Anais Nin.

The range moniker pays homage to The Third Mind, a 1978 book and concept by William Burroughs and Brian Gysin, which showcased the cut ups technique originating from the Surrealists – a form also adapted to film making by Kenneth Anger and Maya Deren. In this mode, unrelated texts and images where literally cut up and rearranged to form radical narratives and vistas.

The conceptual latticework of Andre Bretons Surrealist Manifestos takes concrete form in the Manifesto ring and cuff; the smoky vernacular,Air Jordan 5, bohemian lifestyle and courage of erotic diarist Anais Nin are embedded in the pierced Anais cuff,Air Jordan XI Having indulged in Tom Fordery,Air Jordan 8, ring and pendant; The Pleasure Dome ear cuff sites Kenneth Angers psyched out film Inaugration of the Pleasure Dome (featuring Anais Nin); while The Third Mind kaleidoscope neckpiece is functional and symbolic to the spliced juxtapositions of the Surrealist outlook.

If you’re feeling tripped out just from reading those descriptions,Jordan 11 Retro, ponder no further on it; I figure you don’t need to understand the jewellery to enjoy it.
