Indian left parties say no to U.S. legislation on nuclear deal
NEW DELHI, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) said Monday that the legislation passed by the U.S. Congress on the India-U.S. civil nuclear deal was not acceptable. CPI-M General Secretary Prakash Karat was quoted by Indo-Asian News Service as saying that the U.S. Congress has not taken into account India's concerns over the legislation. The CPI-M, together with the other three Left parties Timberland uomo, supports the ruling coalition but has not joined in the present government. The Left parties wanted a debate in the Parliament Scarpe timberland, Karat said. He asked the government to talk to the Bush administration over India's concerns and apprehensions before continuing the negotiations for a bilateral agreement.
