Google senior management not using
Strong management support would seem to be key for a new product'ssuccess. After all, if the company behind it doesn't demtrate aninterest or confidence in the product, why should anyone else?
Which would make one wonder: if Google executives can't be bothered touse their own social network, what makes them think the rest of us will?That's
canada goose jackets salethe question that immediately leaps to mind when one ciders thefindings of Michael DeGusta, who recently counted how many timesGoogle's senior leadership has posted to Google+ since its launch threemonths ago.
What DeGusta found was that CEO Larry Page was one of the standouts withseven posts. That may not sound like much, but that's seven more thaneight of his senior executives. Google cofounder Sergey Brin has posted15 times, while the leader at more than 150 posts is Vic Gundotra, buthe's widely perceived as Goolge's social czar--it's kind of his job.
Meanwhile, Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt and Chief Legal Officer David Drummond don't seem to have Google+ accounts at all.
Of course, many of
cheap north facethese executives may have opted to post privately, but it's seems thatit would be in their best interest to show some public interest in theircompany's product, like say Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who recentlysaid he is on the social-networking giant "all day long." Well, maybenot that much.
Google representatives did not respond to a request for comment.
Samsung posted a teaser video for the new Android phone it plans todebut next week, likely the Nexus Prime, and its design makes the thecurved face of the Nexus S look positively flat.
The video for the Samsung Unpacked event on October 11 in San Diegosaid, "Another perfect combination is just around the corner."
It closed with a side
tory burch shoes view of the curved phone and the words, "Something big is coming," perhaps an indication of the phone's screen size.
The video popped up right after Apple debuted its iPhone 4S yesterday.That upgraded model with a faster processor and better camera may havedisappointed some hoping for something more dramatic, but it'll stillsell like hotcakes and be top competition for Samsung's top-end Androidline.
The Nexus Prime could be the launch vehicle for Google's newest versionof Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, which Executive Chairman Eric Schmidtsaid will arrive in October or November. Google typically picks toppartners who get a period of exclusivity with new OS versi. HTC wasfavored early on with Android's debut models and the Nexus One; Samsungwas in the catbird seat with its Nexus S, and Motorola was the first outwith Honeycomb, the tablet version of Android.
Ice Cream Sandwich takes Honeycomb features and interfaces and adapts them for smartphones, too.
