WASHINGTON, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- The five men suspected of masterminding the Sept. 11, 2001
ugg deutschland günstig, terrorist attacks will be tried in a civilian court, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said.
"After eight years of delay, those allegedly responsible for the (Sept. 11
cheap ugg boots, 2001) attacks ... will finally face justice," Holder told a Friday news conference. "They will be brought to New York to answer for their alleged crimes in a courthouse just blocks from where the Twin Towers once stood."
Proceedings against Khalid Sheik Mohammed, Walid Muhammed Salih Mubarak bin Attash, Ramzi bin al-Shibh, Ali Abdul-Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed al-Hawsawi have been stayed since February while the Justice and Defense departments determined whether they should be tried before a military commission or a civilian court, Holder said.
The nation's top prosecutor said five other detainees at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, military prison will face military commission trials, including Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the suspected mastermind of the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in which 17 U.S. sailors died.
Holder expressed confidence in the federal court system to provide the five Sept. 11 defendants a fair trial.
"I also want to assure the American people that we will prosecute these cases vigorously
kids ugg, and we will pursue the maximum punishment available," Holder said. "These were extraordinary crimes and so we will seek maximum penalties."
Because federal rules allow for the death penalty

While expressing hope critics could look at his decision dispassionately and within the context of the law, Holder said
