BEIJING, June 6 (Xinhua) -- The release of air quality data by foreign embassies and consulates goes against international conventions and Chinese law, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.

The foreign embassies and consulates are neither legally qualified nor professionally capable of conducting environmental monitoring in China wholesale oakley sunglasses, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin said at a regular press briefing.

Embassies and consulates monitoring environmental quality and publishing the results themselves are not in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations or China's environmental protection regulations, Liu said, calling such moves "irresponsible."

"We hope that the embassies and consulates of some countries concerned will abide by the recognized principles of international law, respect China's laws and regulations and stop the irresponsible behavior," said the spokesman.
