Jefferson, a 6-9, 200-pound product of Friends Central in Wynnewood, Pa., is one of the last elite prospects from the current senior class to choose a school. Jefferson joins shooting guard Rasheed Sulaimon of Houston as Duke’s only recruits for the 2012 class.

Jefferson is valued for his length and athleticism and said, because of his stature, “Right now, I don’t think they have a guy like me. I hope to bring energy and passion, not only to the team but to the whole university.”
Scout.com’s evaluation of Jefferson lists his strengths as his attacking mentality, competitiveness and potential and his areas to improve as ballhandling and physical strength. He is the No. 21 prospect in Scout’s top 100.
