It's slightly repetitive in this space,Anquan Boldin Jersey, but it really is often entertaining to find the concealed play that won the game. A lot is going to be made from Joe Flacco's near-perfect game,Ray Lewis Jersey, Todd Heap's toughness, and Michael Oher's 23 near ejections. With numerous plays, only one was the catalyst.
And it came from Ed Reed.
Fresh off a long drive than ended with three points and Jamaal Charles's brilliant 40-yard dash,Ben Roethlisberger Jersey, the Chiefs had been driving and they have been rolling. The defense was on its heels and Matt Cassel was cozy handing the ball off. On third-and-seven,Jim Kelly Jersey, he hit the dynamic Dexter McCluster inside the flat with open space.
And Reed blew him up.
It was a total contradiction to what all the speaking heads say: the crack normally implies helmet-to-helmet. But Reed popped McCluster square in the chest with his shoulder. It got the Chiefs off the area and gave the D its identity back.
Reed's got a bum neck,Michael Oher Jersey, which can be a euphemism for "his complete entire body feels like he's finding stabbed every single time he touches anyone." Because the pinched nerve, Reed has been a ballhawk but not a destroyer. That is the reason some fans have put Troy Polamalu in his class.
But Reed - who has been coping with a hard family concern considering that Friday morning once the Pro Bowl safety’s brother apparently disappeared in to the Mississippi River - transformed the game Sunday with a single hit. Hopefully he's got an additional one in him for Saturday night.
