Economist: Apple in more trouble as Microsoft

Microsoft is the latest since the announcement of CEO Steve Ballmer, he will retire next year, in a State of flux. An economist believes that Apple but is in even bigger trouble.

The economist Paul Krugman has said in a New York Times column to the situation by apple accessories store and Microsoft. Krugman acknowledges, not an IT expert to be, which is why what he says was perhaps quite obvious to many.

His thesis: The current situation, in which Apple am, was comparable to that at first glance in the 1980s. At that time, Apple had a better operating system than Windows in the offer that was there but only for Apple's own devices and thus at a higher price.

That Apple therefore not prevailed against Microsoft's competition product Windows, is known: many customers opted for the cheaper product, and promoting wider it moved then more and more people in the Windows world.

Also in the Smartphone and Tablet era, Apple was the only company that can offer devices with the iOS to a comparatively high price again. An advantage is the greater number of apps up-to-date over the competition. However was not so great, at least Krugman's assessment, the quality advantage of iOS against Android.

It was also annoying to the iOS that behind the philosophy of Steve Jobs' was: the former Apple CEO said that knowing that Krugman, what was good for the customers. "Atypical" customers would have to compete with the iOS to do what they want - for example, Krugman wants to create categories for downloaded YouTube videos, which was much simpler on an Android Tablet thanks to the simple folder structure.

Ultimately, the number of the selling points for iOS devices so would decrease. And that could a bigger problem than the issues in which Microsoft is for Apple: Microsoft is still the clear number one in the PC market, and "conservative" IT specialists would decide a long time, however, to switch to a different system.

The souq dubai Apple crowd is however first and foremost from consumers who could - decide impulsively also for other devices so that Apple's success might against could much end as Microsoft's.
