The Detroit Free Press reported Friday that Jewell Garrett represents one of many Detroit seniors who have become the targets of crime in recent months

Detroit Police told the Free Press in August that compared with the first half of 2008, the first six months of 2009 have seen an 86 percent increase in the number of seniors killed in homicides in Detroit.
