BEIJING, April?28 (Xinhuanet) -- A suicide bombing has killed at least 10 people and injured nearly 30 outside a mosque in central Damascus. Three other smaller explosions have also been reported in the capital fake lv belts, killing 1 person. The explosions constitute another blow to a fraying UN-brokered truce between the government of President Bashar al-Assad and rebels fighting for his removal from power.
A suicide bomber blew himself up across a street near a mosque in the Syrian capital Damascus.
The street was stained with blood and littered with shattered glass from a damaged police vehicle.
Syrian TV aired footage of white smoke billowing from under a bridge as people streamed out of a mosque.
Health Minister Nader al-Halqi said at least 7 of the dead were policemen.
The injured were taken to a hospital.
Witness & member of security force said, "We were performing an official mission at al-Midan police station. When we were near Zein al-Abidin mosque, an unknown person dressed in a uniform just like us walked through our group. The guys saw him and did not recognize him. They stopped him asking for his ID and while talking to him he blew himself up."
It’s unclear who is behind the latest string of attacks.
The violence is the latest blow to a peace plan brokered by UN-Arab League special envoy Kofi Annan that called for a cease-fire to go into effect two weeks ago.

With violence continuing on the ground, the UN says 15 more truce observers of the total advance team of 30, will arrive in Syria by Monday. The UN is speeding up the deployment of the full mission of 300 observers.
