Cleveland Golf CG12 Black Pearl Wedge
The CG12 combines classic wedge design with advanced manufacturing processes. On each CG12 wedge, the grooves are milled to maximum conforming dimensions using a proprietary CNC mill bit to create envelope-stretching geometry. To improve shot consistency, the new groove geometry was coupled with an innovative plating process making ZIP Grooves Cleveland Golf's most consistent, precise, and visible wedge technology to date.
The Cleveland CG12 wedge is made from 8620 carbon steel and combines classic wedge design with advanced manufacturing process, which have led to the latest breakthrough in wedge technology known as ZIP Grooves. This new ZIP Groove technology has given the Cleveland CG12 wedge the biggest and most precisely milled grooves ever offered in a Cleveland wedge. ZIP Grooves are milled to maximum conforming dimensions using a proprietary CNC mill bit that creates envelope-stretching geometry for added shot consistency. During the manufacturing process, each Zip Grooves' integrity is maintained by the application of a proprietary coating for added protection throughout the critical face sandblasting phase of production. The Cleveland CG12's unique milling process not only helps to optimize spin but also gives players of any level improved distance control. Their larger groove volume, which helps channel more debris than wedges with traditional grooves, allows for increased club face contact with the ball. These new Zip Grooves, coupled with an innovative plating process, has made the CG12 wedge into Cleveland Golf's most consistent, precise and visible wedge technology to date.
The Cleveland CG12 wedge continues Cleveland Golf’s tradition of having the most comprehensive selection of bounce options. Every player, whether professional or amateur, has a complete selection available to optimize impact for every swing and playing condition. The Low, Std, and High Bounce options are clearly displayed with the same 3 dot system used on all CG series wedges (1 dot = low bounce, 2 dots = std bounce, 3 dots = high bounce). In addition, the bounce value (measured in degrees) is engraved on each hosel providing players with even more information to help the selection process.
