I bet you thought I was all through with talking about Paris Fashion Week. But did you really think I would let the fashion week season go by without talking about the Chanel? When last I talked about Chanel I was on a mission to let you know that despite what some silly authors were writing, Chanel is anything but dusty. And, of course, when Chanel unveiled their Spring 2011 collection at Paris Fashion Week they proved that I was 100% right with a collection with great class and sophistication.

While Chanel`s Fall 2010 collection was full of opulent and elaborate handbags complete with exotic furs and exotic feathers �C this wasn`t to everyone`s taste even if I thought the collection was brilliant – this Spring 2011 collection is full of subtle designs with muted colours. These bags are the exact opposite of a Spring 2011 Louis Vuitton line that is brash and flashy. And, while I still haven`t decided what to think of the LV collection, I instantly fell in love with these Chanel bags. They are a subtle reinvention of Chanel`s classic take on luxury �C they`re perfect!

I love that these bags are small �C Karl Lagerfeld has gone for the small, handheld bags and clutches over the large shoulder bag. But, despite the small sizes, these bags are instantly striking by way of classic Chanel bag shapes and gorgeous materials.

One of the major complaints hurled at Chanel in recent years is that their new designs can be staid, and unadventurous. I can easily see these same complaints being placed on this collection (though their fall line certainly avoided this problem). But, is there really a problem with having a signature look? The quilted leather, dashes of glitter, and modernist lines in this Spring collection all scream Chanel �C but is anybody else really making bags that are this luxurious and this wearable?

I absolutely love to feel luxurious. But,coach purses, frankly, I don`t need a pile of faux-fur or croc leather to feel that way. This collection hits the mark because it is totally haute couture but never inaccessible. I would wear any one of these bags �C how many collections can you say that about?

my god!amazing…all the classic chanel features such as the tweet jackets and high feather collars mixed with some tibetan chic, light feathers,great dresses, a bit of rock ‘n’ roll with cool boots and those sexy leather high thighs.somehow karl managed to throw a bit of glitz and glamour in as well in the knitting of the jackets and embellishments of the dresses.love!!id wear all of it.the choreography for the show looked rather complicated though.and karls little catwalk at the end:) of course most of all the classic timeless bags,very simple and elegant and i agree they’d go with everything.sooooo luxurious;)
