The Beats by Dr. Dre brand was launched in 2008 with a single pair of headphones, now known as the Studio.[2] Since then,Dr Dre Headphones, the product lineup has expanded to include several styles of on-ear/over-ear headphones,Beats By Dr Dre, several styles of in-ear headphones, and the Beatbox speaker dock. Some versions of the loudspeakers are colored red as part of a collaboration with Irish musician Bono's Product RED charity group.
The brand has also partnered with Chrysler Motors to install a "Beats Audio" speaker system in the Chrysler 300S.[5] At Consumer Electronics Show in 2012, Chrysler announced that the Dodge Charger would also receive a "Beats Audio" speaker system.[6]
Beats By Dr. Dre is a brand of headphones and loudspeakers marketed by hip-hop/rap artist Dr. Dre and Interscope-Geffen-A&M Records chairman Jimmy Iovine under Beats Electronics,Beats By Dr Dre outlet, LLC.[1] The headphones, earphones, and speakers sold under the brand are manufactured and distributed under an exclusive license by Monster Cable Products. As part of marketing strategy, the headphones often appear in music videos, movies, advertisements,Beats By Dr Dre Headphones, and other media.
Beats Electronics has partnered with several other companies to collaborate and design audio products.

[edit] Other Audio ProductsIn August 2011,Beats By Dr Dre Sale, mobile phone manufacturer HTC purchased a 51% stake in Beat Electronics, LLC in exchange for a $300 million investment in the company.[7] As part of the deal, HTC has exclusive rights among mobile phone companies to use the Beats brand. The first mobile phone to carry the Beats brand is the HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio.[8]
[edit] Artist CollaborationsOn 12 January 2012, Business Week reported that Beats Electronics and Monster has decide not to renew their 5 year exclusive contract and would be ending their partnership.[3]
