Samsung apparently plans to release some of Galaxy Tab models for the second half of the year. So far, the rumors spoke only of models with ARM SoCs, there is now evidence of the use of an Intel Atom SoCs with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 3(PIPO M9).
According to recent rumors, Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in July 3. In addition, other variants of the Galaxy S4 for the coming months are expected and also a smaller Galaxy Tab as a competitor to the iPad mini is expected in the next few months. In itself, it is assumed in this report assume that Samsung SoC models introduce faster ARM-based(Ramos W30HD) and will use higher resolution displays. But at least in the SoC issue a new candidate is now surfaced, allegedly because Samsung is planning the use of SoCs from Intel production.
Supposedly, the Galaxy Tab will have a 10.1 3 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. In addition to a GiByte RAM there will be a 3-megapixel camera and a 7,000 mAh battery(ONDA V813). Until now, it has been assumed that a dual-core ARM SoC works under the hood, each with 1.5 GHz clock. The operating system is Android 4.2.2 Samsung supposedly uses. Notes on the use of an Intel SoCs are now however in the GLBenchmark database, here is a 1.6 GHz Atom chip with two cores and 1.6 GHz clock is listed as SoC namely. As the GPU is the Intel Atom Z2560, a PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 chip to the side. This decision could for Intel, but also for Samsung to be a quite worthwhile effort, because Intel wants to urgently expand its market share in the mobile devices and Samsung is likely to get the SoC components relatively cheap from Intel.
