The southbound Harbor Freeway was closed Friday morning as Los Angeles police looked for evidence -- including a gun -- tossed from the windows of a vehicle officers were pursuing.

CHP's Ramirez said Los Angeles Police officers became aware during the pursuit that the suspect threw potentially vital evidence from the vehicle while driving on the southbound section of the 110 Freeway near USC.
The chase occurred after an assault with a deadly weapon incident in downtown L.A. The suspect was caught
