, June 17 (UPI) -- A 40-year-old British man has been jailed for what a judge called "utterly outrageous" driving.
Police said Ian Ellis drove for more than 23 miles the wrong way down the highway near Manchester at speeds of up to 110 mph. Police managed to puncture his tires but he kept on driving before losing control and crashing into a barrier.

Ellis drew 14 months in the slammer
, Sky News said. His lawyer said he suspected the two drinks his client had earlier were spiked.
